Natalie is a Senior Registered Dietition with more than 13 years of experience in diabetes nutrition and over 30 years of lived insight as someone who has navigated life with T1D herself. Losing her father to T1D related complications shaped the course of her life and gave her a profound sense of purpose, to use her personal and professional experience to help others living with T1D to feel supported, understood, and empowered. Whether she is guiding a newly diagnosed patient, fine-tuning nutrition for optimal time in range, or helping a family navigate an early T1D diagnosis, Natalie approaches every Time in Range patient with compassion, expertise, and heart.

Kathleen Pinto
Research Assistant & Telehealth Support
Kathleen serves as Research Assistant and Telehealth Support Specialist at Time in Range, bringing more than 3 years of research experience in sleep medicine. She completed her undergraduate studies at Princeton University with a background in neuroscience and cognitive science. Kathleen wishes to pursue a career in medicine. At Time in Range Kathleen provides support for both NP Deane and NP Buitrago during clinic sessions as well as contributes to research initiatives, including the T1D Screening Queen early detection program. Kathleen is passionate about creating an exceptional patient experience and ensuring every patient feels heard, supported, and empowered throughout their care journey.

Nurse Practitioner
Meet Carolina Buitrago, a board certified APRN with extensive experience in Endocrinology, Cardiology and metabolic conditions. Carolina brings a deep clinical understanding of diabetes and complex metabolic health to the Time in Range team, ensuring every patient receives the most current, evidenced based care available. Carolina takes the time with her patients, building strong, trusting relationships, tailoring every treatment plan to the individual in front of her. Carolina believes exceptional diabetes care starts with an exceptional patient/provider relationship. At Time in Range, that is exactly what she delivers.

Dr. Jhoanna Solis, MD, ICH-GCP
Senior Medical Assistant
Jhoanna is a dedicated Medical Assistant and international medical graduate with a strong clinical background in patient care, procedure assistance, and diabetes technology support. Dr. Solis supports patient intake and medical documentation, assists with clinical procedures, and provides hands on education for patients using CGMs and insulin pumps. From the moment patients walk through our doors, her honest and caring personality puts them immediately at ease. Jhoanna is board certified as a First Surgical Assistant and holds certifications in BLS, and ACLS.

Irina Elhendy, MSN, RN
Registered Nurse & Insulin Pump Trainer
Meet Irina. With experience as an emergency room nurse, Irina brings a strong foundation in emergency and critical care nursing to the Time in Range team. She completed her Masters in Nursing at Nova Southeastern University. At TIme in Range, Irina specializes in insulin pump training and diabetes technology education, bringing her clinical precision and expertise to help patients achieve their best time in range. Known for her warm and genuinely kind bedside manner, Irina has a natural gift for making patients feel supported. Irina's certifications include, ACLS, BLS, TNCC, and ENPC.

Dr. Xiomara Ortiz-Huertas, MD, ECFMG
Research Coordinator & Medical Assistant
Xiomara brings an exceptional academic and clinical foundation to the Time in Range Team. She completed her medical training at Ross University School of Medicine with clinical rotations at Cleveland Clinic, Baptist Health, and other outpatient settings across Miami-Dade. At Time in Range, Dr. Ortiz serves as Research Coordinator. Her work focuses on translating clinical data into meaningful, patient-centered improvements in care. She is known for being highly organized, adaptable, and committed to delivering efficient, high quality patient care. Xiomara is a rising star in medicine and we are proud to have her on our team.

Her background in international business and foreign language education reflects her strong communication skills and expertise in customer service. Maria ensures that every Time in Range patient feels welcomed, understood and well supported.
